My Opinion on what class to choose

This is my opinion on classes when starting off. Blizzard kinda made every class pretty survivable at start for leveling so there is no wrong class to choose.

Warrior -
Pros: Plate dps/tank, A very strong class to choose when starting out you wear the heaviest armor to take hits and can dish out the hits to kill an enemy quickly. Can get random dungeon groups very quickly if you choose tank spec.
Cons: No self healing until higher levels other than First Aid. Can be kited very easily in pvp starting out.

Hunter -
Pros: You get a pet starting off. Its like having your own tank which you can heal. Damage out put is great. Lots of survivability leveling. My personal favorite choice to start a new character.
Cons: Once a NPC or Player gets too you it can be hard to get them off. You need range to be most effective. No self Healing until higher level.

Mage -
Pros: Lots of Damage, You'll most likely kill an enemy before they reach you. Higher levels you get your own teleport ability's to make traveling very easy. Make own food and water to decrease down time.
Cons: Only can wear cloth, which means if you do get hit its probably gonna hurt. No self healing. And if you cant learn to kite your gonna get hurt.

Druid -
Pros: A true Hybrid class. You can heal, tank or dps. Large survivability with any spec you choose. You can change forms. Have travel form for ground and water. Fast que times for healer or tank. Fun to play in pvp. Suggest playing this class after you've played another class before.
Cons: It can be hard to master using all the forms to maxium potential performing roles in pvp. If selecting healer or moonkin it can be hard finding leather casting gear.

Paladin -
Pros: Hybrid Class, You can tank heal or dps in plate gear. A nice choice for first character. Easy leveling having tons of survivability being able to self heal. You use spells and Holy Power. Special Paladin mounts.
Cons: Not going to top any charts with paladin dps. PvP can get frustrating if your not a healer.

Shaman -
Pros: Wears mail for a bit of surviablity. Can choose to be caster dps or melee. Can be a viable healer. Has self heals for the "oh shit" moments. Travel form. Totems give generous buffs.
Cons: Even with self healing it seems to not be enough sometimes. Caster mail gear is hard to come by. Not a lot of survivability in pvp other than healing spec. Not a great choice for first class

Rouge -
Pros: Your a rouge whats cooler than that. Stealth is great makes questing easy, you dont have to worry about killing everything just to get to that one guy you have to take down. Higher levels you get tons of ability's to help you live in "oh shit" situations. Lots of damage.
Cons: Once you run out of ability's consider yourself dead. No self healing until higher level. Long Que times for random dungeons.

Priest -
Pros: Healing obviously your a priest! Finding groups is very quick if you choose one of the two healing specs. Easy to find gear. Easy class to learn for healing specs.
Cons: It might just be me but I found shadow hard to learn/master. You can only wear cloth so if you have no defensive cool downs hits are going to hurt. Very little Crowd Control.

Warlock -
Pros: Like hunter you get your very own pet to start off with. Lots of Damage and survivability. Lots of unique spells and skills. Demons are awesome what more you want! Still not my first second or third choice of class to start off with.
Cons: Wears cloth, Hard to master, Long que times for dungeons. Minimal self healing till higher level.

Now these are all the Original classes you can choose from i didn't include Death Knight and Monk. Remember this is just my opinion of the classes, Many people would probably argue with what I wrote.
